Characteristics of gallum in lord of the rings

Ask: Characteristics of gallum in lord of the rings

Answer:

•During his centuries under the Ring’s influence, he developed a sort of dissociative identity disorder: Sméagol, his “good” personality, still vaguely remembered things like friendship and love, while Gollum, his “bad” personality, was a slave to the Ring and would kill anyone who tried to take it.

•Character Analysis Gollum – CliffsNotes

The Lord of the Rings Gollum does not receive many compliments in the text. Characters variously describe him as “wretched,” a “vile creature,” a liar, a thief, and a murderer — all of which are quite true. Corrupt and vindictive, he cheats, steals, lies, sneaks, and betrays.

what are the characteristics of the lord of the rings?

Ask: what are the characteristics of the lord of the rings?

The Dwarves are a powerful people in middle earth. They are very skilled in mining, forgery, craft, and fighting.

First guy you need to know about is Durin, the father of all Dwarves, who led them on many escapades and campaigns until he died, and his descendants took over.

They have three major settlement/kingdoms in LOTR and the Hobbit.

Presented n the Hobbit, is their mountain kingdom and stronghold of Erebor, were they found a consistency of jewels and gold, and settled for many prosperous years, until they were massacred and driven out by the ruthless northern Dragon, Smaug. As you probbably know from the hobbit, with the help of Bilbo Baggins, of the shire, they are able to take back their mountain, and in the resulting battle, Smaug is slain by a man of Laketown, and descendent of the prince who ruled dale (The prosperous settlement before Laketown that was destroyed by Smaug) , Bard the Bowman. Despite Thorin, the rightful heir to the throne of the mountain dying of his injuries from the battle with the massed orcs who tried to take the mountain, it was revealed in Lord of the Rings, that the Dwarves were restored to their glory in the mountains under Dain Ironfoot.Moria, probably my favourite, is the enormous expanse of tunnels, caves, and mines which the Dwarves settled in. They profited in almost every way they did in Erebor, except this time, they found something. Something rare and special. This was the unique metal they found deep underground that came to be known as mithril. It was incredibly strong, saving Frodo more than once, and was equally valuable. In the likeness of the occupation of Erebor, a great power took Moria, hungry for the riches the Dwarves had found. The orc armies rose, and took Moria, killing all the Dwarves, and running the mines themselves. But Moria did have a beast to rival Smaug. One of the reasons the orcs were attracted to Moria, as with Smaug to Erebor, is because in the abundance of precious minerals, the Dwarves became greedy. They dug deeper and deeper. They awakened something. I’m not gonna spoil what they found, in case you haven’t read the book/seen the film, but there is a reason they called what they found Durin’s bane. This a short one. Cast out of Erebor, and having lost Moria as well, the Dwarves journeyed to the Blue mountains, where they settled, where most of them just stayed, too dejected and demotivated to even try taking back either of their once great kingdoms.

There was also the Iron hills, where Dain Ironfoot settled with his followers, close enough to Erebor, constantly ready to help take it back, which he did.

If you’ve only watched the films, in which case I plead with you to read the books, you may be confused as to why the Dwarves and Elves are so hostile to each other, to the point at which in the Hobbit, the Elves imprison the Dwarves, intentionally impeding them from taking back the mountain, just because they were travelling through the Elves’ wood.
This is explained in the Simalrillion, the prequel Tolkien eventually made, to explain many of the forces that are present in the Hobbit and LOTR. It is shown that when the all powerful God figure, Illuvatar first created beings, one of the Valar, the council of spirits underneath him, created a in his likeness, the first of the Dwarves (Yes, that would be Durin). Illuvatar was at first angry, revealing he had planned to create beings first, and the Valar apologised, and raised a hammer to destroy his creature. Illuvatar pitied the being, and made a deal so that the Dwarf would be put to sleep until Illuvatar had made a race in his own image, the Elves, so they would technically be the first Creation. Sadly, there was a catch, and it was agreed there would be constant hostility between “Mine and Thine”.

You know the story from there, the Dwarves spread across middle earth, trying to avoid the elves, mining, building, crafting, and becoming rich, as well as occasionally, you know, stopping world ending, malicous, powerful, evil warlords such as Melkor and Sauron.

Answer:

Sauron’s forces have laid siege to Minas Tirith, the capital of Gondor, in their efforts to eliminate the race of men. The once-great kingdom, watched over by a fading Steward, has never been in more desperate need of its King. But can Aragorn answer the call of his heritage and become what he was born to be? In no small measure, the fate of Middle-earth rests on his broad shoulders. With the final battle joined, and the legions of darkness gathering, Gandalf urgently tries to rally Gondor’s broken army to action. He is aided by Rohan’s King Theoden, who unites his warriors for history’s biggest test. Yet even with their courage and passionate loyalty, the forces of men, with Eowyn and Merry hidden amongst them, are no match for the enemies swarming against Gondor. Still, in the face of great losses, they charge forward into the battle of their lifetimes, tied together by their singular goal to keep Sauron distracted and give the Ring Bearer a chance to complete his quest. Their hopes rest with Frodo, a tiny but determined Hobbit making a perilous trip across treacherous enemy lands to cast the One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom. The closer Frodo gets to his destination, the heavier his burden becomes, and the more he must rely on Samwise Gamgee. Gollum, and the Ring, will test Frodo’s allegiances and, ultimately, his humanity.
