Ask: What is the meaning of this statement “We have the mastery of the language when we know when to speak, when not to speak, and what to talk about with whom, when, where, in what manner?”

Explanation:

In my opinion, its meaning of mastery of language is not only inclusive to being fluent and and knowledgeable but also comprises of the experiences language has taught us. Language, as we all know, is the connection that brought us all together. Language made it possible for us to understand our thoughts. It can be done through different forms i.e verbal, written, etc.

As there are rules to almost everything to attain order, the mastery of language also does. We cannot just freely state our thoughts even though we have our freedom of expression. We must know the limits to our thoughts. As what may seem simple to you may mean many other things to the listener. Tito Boy Abunda from the Philippines said, and I quote “Speak when you have something to share, especially if you are sharing something that could make this world a better place. Listen when your heart has no agenda. You listen when your heart is pure. Because only when your heart is pure, you can actually listen and understand.”
